As well as corsets, Victorian Values also make couture Bridal and Evening dresses. Many of the dresses that we make have corseted bodices. We will design a dress with you by producing a selection of sketches for you to choose from. After that we make a toile (an exact copy of the dress in a cotton fabric) and bone it so that you can see what it looks like and make any small changes to the design, such as the shape of the neckline. This also means that we can do fittings without marking the final, more expensive fabric. The final stage is to make the dress again in your chosen fabric, selected from our extensive range of fabric sample books. Final fittings will then take place so that your dress fits you like a glove. With corseted dresses, it is particullarly important that it fits you properly to achieve the desired silhouette. This is something that is difficult to achieve with an off the peg dress. Our aim is to create the dress that you want with a perfect fit. Consultations for dresses can be arranged by appointment.
Below is a gown which comprsies of a corseted bodice and a matching skirt with front drapery and detatchable train. This dress is made in silk Millenium tartan.
